Micropile casing is used as deep foundation structure for supporting buildings works and infrastructures.
The application is undertaken by drilling into the ground and inserting casing segments threaded together, the desired depth is reached. Grout is injected into the casing, spreading, where necessary, through perforations (più che perforations metterei holes/valves) in the casing, which allows for the direct formation of a pillar in the ground.
Developments in technique have extended the use of micropiles to soldier pile wall structures, umbrella roof systems for the temporary support of tunnels, jet-grouting and mines.
